…and you’ve given me more than my share.”  Louie De Palma (Danny DeVito) in Taxi

When experiencing a loss, as we did in our office with the death last month of our assistant and friend, Kathy Hickman, it’s easy to focus on all that is no more. The competent gentle caring she extended to all our clients. The ready smile and laugh she shared every single day.

But now we want to just say thank you. Thank you, Kathy, for 7 great years. You gave us more than our share of

happiness in so many ways. Thank you to everyone who mailed or dropped a candle by for her counter. This picture says it all and we, including Kathy’s sons and parents, were overwhelmed by your caring. Thank you Laura Kraklau for taking this beautiful photo. Thank you all  for the tender cards which line our credenzas. Thank you for stopping by and checking in on us and for hugs and shared tears. Thank you for emails so genuine in their expressions of sadness. Thank you for contributions made to Kathy’s children’s ministry program at her church. Thank you Char and Gary for dropping your work and helping me with the newsletter. Thank you for books on grief and Biggby gift cards. Thank you for plants and flowers which fill our office now with life. Each one of these confirm that we are privileged to belong to such a caring community. You have also contributed to more than our share of happiness.

We are looking forward to the new year. We look forward to working with the people who will join our firm to carry on our mission: good people doing good work to create peace out of conflict. We look forward to providing litigation services with passion, determination and creativity. We look forward to providing mediation and collaborative services to families who wish to remain family after separation and divorce. We look forward to supporting families in planning for peace of mind through estate planning and elder care arrangements.

We wish you all many shares of happiness in 2015.

Gratefully,

Deb Bennett Berecz and Meghan Lipford

So blessed to have experienced her smile and sweet spirit when visiting your office friend. That light will never dim in my memory. Love & Hugs Marilyn
